Terms & conditions
The following definitions apply to these Terms and Conditions:
- “Cardholder” means the primary cardholder of an eligible Scotiabank retail credit card.
- “Promotional Period” refers to the period from February 1, 2026 to March 15, 2026.
- “Promotion” refers to this promotion and not any of Scotiabank’s other promotions or programs.
- “Eligible” refers to qualification to participate in this Promotion.
- “Eligible Purchases/transactions” means any International Purchase, Registered Card Purchase or local retail, internet, phone or mail order purchase or Point of Sale transaction not including returns/credits or any fees and/or bank charges.
- “International Purchase” means any retail purchase made with a foreign vendor (a foreign vendor is an entity located and operating outside of the country in which the card was issued).
- “Registered Card Purchase” refers to any ‘card not present purchases’ done with the eligible credit card where the platform requires the cardholder to register their card to facilitate purchases. For example, Amazon, Spotify, Netflix, etc.
- "Spend Goal” refers to the minimum predetermined amount which must be met by making eligible purchases or performing eligible transactions using their eligible credit card.
- “Prize” refers to the prize a Cardholder receives when he/she is selected as a winner in the promotion.
- “Good standing” means the account should not be overlimit or past due any amount during the promotion period.
- “Eligible credit cards” refers only to Scotiabank retail VISA® credit cards (VISA® Gold, VISA® AAdvantage and VISA® Classic). Other Scotiabank credit cards are not eligible for this promotion.
- “Draw Venue & Time”: The prize draw will be done on Wednesday March 25, 2026, at Scotiabank Marketing Department at 11:00am, 11th Floor, Scotiabank Centre, Corner Duke and Port Royal Street, Kingston.
- "Scotiabank" or “Bank” means The Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Ltd.
This Promotion is open to legal residents of Jamaica who are 18 years of age or older. These terms and conditions shall be governed by the applicable laws of the named country.
How to Participate
- New Eligible credit cards: For every new Eligible credit card account opened, activated and first eligible purchase of any amount made during the Promotional Period, the Cardholder will receive the following entries:
- New VISA® Gold credit card – 15 Entries
- VISA® AAdvantage – 10 Entries
- VISA® Classic – 5 Entries
- Existing Eligible credit cards: During the Promotional Period, existing Cardholders from Jamaica will receive one (1) entry every time they meet the Spend Goal by making Eligible Purchases/Transactions as outlined below. In addition:
- Cardholders will receive five (5) entries for each Registered Card Purchase.
- Cardholders will receive five (5) entries for each International Purchase.
There is no limit on the number of entries a Cardholder may receive during the Promotional Period.
The minimum spending requirement for each country is inclusive of Value Added Tax and/or such other Government taxes as applicable in the jurisdiction where the transaction is processed.

Example:
- Scenario:
- A client opens a new VISA® Gold credit card, activates it, and makes their first purchase of JM$8,000.
- The Cardholder then makes 3 International Purchases: JM$12,000, JM$15,000, and JM$10,000.
- The Cardholder also makes 2 Registered Card purchases: JM$5,000 and JM$7,000.
- Spend Goal Calculation:
- Total spend on new card = JM$8,000 + JM$12,000 + JM$15,000 + JM$10,000 + JM$5,000 + JM$7,000 = JM$57,000
- JM$57,000 ÷ JM$20,000 = 2 full spend goals met (JM$40,000).
- Entries for spend goal = 2 entries
- Entries Calculation:
- New VISA® Gold card (opened, activated, first purchase): 15 entries
- Spend goal met twice: 2 entries
- 3 International Purchases: 3 × 5 = 15 entries
- 2 Registered Card Purchases: 2 × 5 = 10 entries
- Total Entries: 15 + 2 + 15 + 10 = 42 entries
Prize Draw
- Two (2) Cardholders from Jamaica will be selected to win the prize.
- The draw for the Prize will be done on March 25, 2026, and winners contacted by the Products Team for the participating countries.
- The winner from each country will be randomly selected from an electronic customer database with qualifying entries using a randomizer at the Draw Venue & Time. For each selected winner, nine (9) additional entries will be drawn as backup winners in case the original winner is disqualified or unable to claim the prize.
Prize Info
- Each winning Cardholder in both countries involved in this promotion will receive a travel package, which must be used by the winner and a companion of their choice (total of 2 persons).
- The winning Cardholders from Jamaica will win a travel package to Canada to experience a Fifa World Cup 2026™ match at the Group Stage of the competition.
- Scotiabank will be responsible for providing the following details of the trip thereafter:
- Date of travel
- The specific hotel for accommodations
- The flight carrier that will transport the winners to and from Canada
- Once the travel details above are finalised and defined, it will be shared with the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission. The winning Cardholder must be one (1) of the two (2) travelers. The trip must be used by the Cardholder and one (1) person of the Cardholder’s choice. The Cardholder and the person of the Cardholder’s choice must be 18 years or older.

The prize package includes:
- Tickets to official Fifa World Cup 2026™ match(es) agreed upon between Visa and Scotiabank.
- Accommodation in a 4-star hotel (double room) for 5 days and 4 nights.
- Transfers to and from the airport and sports venues by private transportation in the destination city.
- Round-trip flights from an origin city in the beneficiary's country of origin (determined by Visa) to the destination city in economy class.
- Visa will purchase and deliver the airline tickets to the winning Cardholders of the corresponding prize packages. This delivery assumes compliance with the information requirements and conditions outlined above.
- Daily breakfast and light snacks available at the hotel.
- Exclusive gift kit or amenities with an estimated value of USD $400 to $800 per package.
- 1 USD$300 Visa prepaid card per winner.
- Prepaid cards can only be used in the host countries of the World Cup: the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
- These cards are valid until the last day of the World Cup.
- Once the user returns to their country of origin, the card can no longer be used.
- These prepaid cards are designed exclusively for use during the trip.
- Access to the Visa Hospitality Desk or Visa Everywhere Lounge, depending on the city once the lounge is open for service to the winners and their companions. .
- Visa staff on-site for logistical support, security, and medical assistance.
- 1 Standard baggage (23kg) per person.

Kindly note that:
- The prize package cannot be redeemed or exchanged for cash.
- The prize package is only valid for travel during the dates of the Fifa World Cup 2026™ Group Stage and Round of 32 Stage based on the applicable country of each winner.
- This is a single-use prize package. Any unused portion of the package is forfeited and is not redeemable for cash or other forms of credit.
- The prize is not transferable.
- The winner and the winner’s guest are responsible for complying and/or meeting the needed requirements to access Canada. No Assistance with respect to Passport, Visa or any other travel document processing and application services or fees will be provided; and should not be expected/considered as part of the prize.
- The value of the travel package is USD$45,760 per country.
Prize package conditions
- The selection of matches does not guarantee the presence of specific teams.
- The prize winner must provide their written acceptance and companion’s full name and contact information to Scotiabank no later than forty (40) days before the opening of the FIFA World Cup 2026™. Scotiabank will then forward this information to Visa. Failure by the prize winner to provide the required information within this period may result in forfeiture of the prize, and Visa cannot guarantee that the package will be usable.
- If the prize winner requests any changes to the flight details after it is booked, and the airline imposes an additional cost for such change, the prize winner will be responsible for paying that cost directly to the airline or, if Visa pays that cost to the airline, directly to Visa.
- The winner(s) from each country must enter the Visa Sponsorships platform (or the one timely communicated by Visa), fill in the information, and submit the documents required by that platform, and accept the terms and conditions of use of the prize package.
Exclusions
- Travel visas or other permits that may be necessary for the winner(s) to enjoy the packages, including, without limitation, any immigration, exit, or entry permits to a country or territory and any requirements to obtain such travel visa or other permits.
- Unexpected hotel expenses (e.g., long-distance phone calls, room service, laundry, minibar items, room service), loss of hotel property, damage to hotel property, or any other expenses incurred at the hotel.
- Any expenses that are not part of the scheduled program itinerary (e.g., meals, events, activities outside the program itinerary, shopping, transportation to local sites during free time, food expenses beyond the scheduled meals).
- Any applicable taxes (e.g., personal tax that may be charged to the package beneficiaries regarding their receipt of the packages or any part thereof).
- Insurance of any kind to protect against accidents, medical treatment, or loss of life.
- Translation services.
The bank reserves the right to make amendments to the period of travel at its discretion with prior approval from the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission for Jamaica.
Eligibility
- This Promotion is open to legal residents of Jamaica aged 18 years of age or older, who open and activate a new Scotiabank credit card with the exception of employees of the Bank, its respective parent companies (The Bank of Nova Scotia and Bank of Nova Scotia Group), subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies; their immediate family members (spouses, parents, children, siblings and their respective spouses) and/or those living in the same household as any of these employees.
- Transactions from unauthorized credit card use or those made with lost, stolen, or fraudulent Scotiabank credit cards will be considered void in the matter of this Promotion.
Draw - Consumer Disclosure / Notification of winners.
- Attempts to notify each winner will be made by telephone, three (3) times within three (3) business days from the date of the draw. Should the Bank be unable to speak to the winner by telephone within the aforementioned period another winner will be drawn from the backup winners in their stead. After being notified by telephone, an email will be sent to the winner. The winner will then be required to provide proof of their age and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Prize Acceptance and Release within five (5) business days of the email notification to be confirmed as a winner. The winner will also be required to provide proof of ownership of the Scotiabank credit card that was used to win the prize. A valid form of national identification (i.e. National ID card, Passport, or Driver’s License) must also be presented to collect the prize.
- If the winner declines or fails to fulfill these conditions to collect the prize, their eligibility will be voided, and another winner will be drawn from backup winners in the order in which they were selected. All unaccepted prizes will be retained by the Bank.
- Contact will be attempted using the Cardholder’s phone number as found in the Bank’s records. If the winner cannot be contacted by telephone within three (3) business days of the draw date the Bank has the right to offer the prize to the backup winner in the order they were drawn.
- The winners’ name may be published in the media. By accepting the prize the winner agrees to the use of their name and photographs without compensation in any forthcoming publicity by Scotiabank or the prize may be forfeited.
- The winner will be responsible for any entry visa, taxes, tips, insurance, travel requirements and expenses not explicitly stated as part of their prize, and must agree to release, discharge and hold harmless the Bank from and against any or all claims, losses, injuries or damages resulting from participation in this Promotion. If a Cardholder who is selected as a winner is unable to secure any entry or satisfy any applicable travel requirements for the destination city in advance of the prize trip, this will amount to a forfeiture of the prize and the Bank will proceed to select a new Cardholder from the list of backup winners drawn.
- The use of your Eligible credit card to make purchases together with your use of the Scotiabank Online Banking and Scotiabank Caribbean App to perform transactions in accordance with these terms and conditions constitute your consent to participate in this Promotion and your consent for The Bank to obtain your name, address and other information for the lawful purpose of administering this Promotion and for other uses as permitted by applicable law. Scotiabank reserves the right, with consultation and approval from the relevant Gaming Commissions (as applicable) to void any and all entries of an entrant who Scotiabank believes has attempted to tamper with or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of this contest.
- Any prize earned through participation in this Promotion will be forfeited in the event that the Cardholder ceases to be a Cardholder at any period from the beginning of the Promotion to draw time for this Promotion.
- Prizes are not transferable and are subject to change, with approval from the relevant Gaming Commissions (Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission in Jamaica.
- Prizes must be accepted as awarded.
- Scotiabank will issue no representation or warranty in respect of the prize.
- Unclaimed prizes will remain the property of Scotiabank.
In all matters relating to this Promotion, the decision of the Bank shall be final and binding in all respects.
- Scotiabank has the right to exclude any individual from this offer in its absolute discretion without any obligation to provide notice or reason.
- Scotiabank reserves the right in its absolute discretion to vary the terms and conditions of this Promotion or change or withdraw this Promotion at any time without giving any reason. In the event of a dispute arising from this Promotion, the Bank's decision is final.
These terms and conditions apply only to this Promotion and do not apply to any of the Bank's other promotions or programs or any other promotion or program in conjunction with the Bank and any other entity or brand.
