Terms and Conditions
- “Cardholder” means the primary holder of a Scotiabank retail credit card.
- “Cycles” refer to the retail credit card’s billing cycles.
- “Promotional Period” refers to the period from July 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026.
- “Promotion” refers to this promotion and not any of the Bank’s other promotions or programs.
- “Spend Bonus Period” refers to the first three (3) cycles from the retail credit card account opening date during which, the Cardholder must meet the Spend Threshold in order to receive the Spend Bonus.
- “First Purchase Bonus” refers to the bonus which a Cardholder receives when the first eligible net purchase is made during the Promotional Period with his/her retail credit card.
- “Net Purchases” refers to purchases minus returns / credits and does not include cash advances, balance transfers, credit card cheques, or any fees and/ or finance charges.
- “Spend Threshold” refers to the minimum amount of money which a Cardholder must spend during the spend bonus period using his/her credit card in order to receive the spend bonus.
- “Spend Bonus” refers to the bonus which a Cardholder will receive when a predetermined spend threshold is met during the Spend Bonus Period using his/her retail credit card.
- “Eligible” refers to any Scotiabank client qualified to participate in this promotion.
- “Eligible Credit Card” refers to the following Scotiabank retail credit cards: Standard Mastercard, Visa Classic, Gold Mastercard, Visa Gold, AAdvantage Visa/Mastercard, AERO Platinum and the AMEX Platinum.
- “Eligible Purchase” refers to any retail credit card purchases which have been converted to a Scotiabank SelectPay Installment Plan during the Promotional Period and maintained for at least the minimum installment plan term of 3 months, minus returns/credits but does not include cash advances, balance transfers, credit card cheques or any fees and/or finance charges.
- “Transactional Chequing Account” refers to a bank account used for everyday banking transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, bill payments, debit card purchases, transfers, and other routine payments.
- “Savings Account” refers to a bank account intended to help customers save money while earning interest, with access to funds subject to the account’s terms and conditions.
- “Switch Mortgage” refers to a mortgage transferred from another financial institution to Scotiabank, where the customer moves their existing mortgage balance to Scotiabank, subject to approval and applicable terms.
- “Mortgage” refers to a loan secured by real property, used to purchase, refinance, or borrow against a home or other eligible property, and repaid according to agreed terms and conditions.
- “Cashback” refers to the amount that will be credited to the retail credit card account of an Eligible Cardholder who meets the Spend Threshold or who made Eligible Purchases during the Promotional Period.
- “Merchant Rewards” refers to special offers, discounts, cashback, bonus points or other incentives that AMEX credit card holders receive when they make purchases at participating merchants.
- "Scotiabank" or “Bank” means The Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited.
This Promotion is open to legal residents of Jamaica who are 18 years of age or older. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the applicable laws of the named countries.
This Promotion is open to legal residents of the named countries, aged 18 years of age or older, who hold an Eligible Credit Card or open a new Scotiabank Credit Card, with the exception of employees of the Bank, its respective parent companies (The Bank of Nova Scotia) and subsidiaries; their immediate family members (spouses, parents, children, siblings and their respective spouses) and/or those living in the same household as any of these employees. Employees of the Bank's advertising and promotional agencies, as well as their immediate family members, relatives and/or those living in the same households are also not eligible to participate in the Promotion.
In this Promotion, Scotiabank Cardholders will be entitled to earn promotional benefits based on their acceptance of any of the options below:

Clients who already hold an existing Transactional Chequing Account and/or Savings Account are not required to open an additional account.
Eligible Credit Cards may be opened once a client’s mortgage application has been approved by the Bank.
In order to receive the reward outlined below, the Eligible Credit Card must be activated, and the first purchase must be completed within the first 3 Cycles.
N.B – A client can participate in one (1) of the Options mentioned above. If they qualify for both – Option 2 takes priority. These rewards outlined below are IN ADDITION to the regular Welcome Bonuses.

Please note that the Cashback, although quoted in USD, will be credited to the Cardholder’s Eligible Credit Card account in the equivalent amount of the card’s currency if the card currency is not USD.
Timing of Credit
New Cardholders who are Eligible for this Promotion will receive the above-mentioned rewards depending on the date when the new account was opened on the Bank’s system, as follows:
Group #1: For all new accounts opened on the Bank’s system from July 1 to July 31, 2026 the reward will be credited by December 31, 2026.
Group #2: For all new accounts opened on the Bank’s system from August 1 and August 31, 2026the reward will be credited by January 31, 2027.
Group #3: For all new accounts opened on the Bank’s system from September 1 and September 30, 2026 the reward will be credited by February 28, 2027.
Group #4: For all new accounts opened on the Bank’s system from October 1 and October 31, 2026, the reward will be credited by March 31, 2027.
Group #5: For all new accounts opened and on the Bank’s system from November 1 and November 30, 2026, the reward will be credited by April 30, 2027.
Group #6: For all new accounts opened on the Bank’s system from December 1 and December 31, 2026, the reward will be credited by May 31, 2027.
In order to be eligible to receive the above-mentioned promotional benefits, the Cardholder's Eligible Credit Card must be in good standing and must not have been blocked, frozen, stolen or fraudulently obtained, mislaid, lost or written-off, or delinquent, as of the following dates:
- Group #1: As of December 31, 2026
- Group #2: As of January 31, 2027
- Group #3: As of February 28, 2027
- Group #4: As of March 31, 2027
- Group #5: As of April 30, 2027
- Group #6: As of May 31, 2027
The Bank reserves the right to determine which purchases qualify for this Promotion.
A Cardholder’s benefit earned through participation in this Promotion will be forfeited in the event that the Cardholder ceases to be a Cardholder at any time during the Promotional Period or retail credit card transactions made, during the Promotional Period are reversed.
In all matters relating to this Promotion, including any dispute arising from this Promotion, the decision of the Bank shall be final and binding in all respects.
Scotiabank has the right to exclude any individual from this Promotion in its absolute discretion without any obligation to provide notice or reason.
Scotiabank reserves the right in its absolute discretion to vary the terms and conditions of this Promotion or change or withdraw this Promotion at any time without giving any reason or notice.
These terms and conditions apply only to this Promotion and do not apply to any of the Bank’s other promotions or programs or any other promotion or program in conjunction with the Bank and any other entity or brand.
