Scotiabank Visa FIFA Women World Cup 2023™

The following definitions apply to these Terms and Conditions:

• “Cardholder” means the primary cardholder of a Scotiabank issued Visa credit card, excluding credit cards issued to Businesses.
• “Promotional Period” refers to the period from April 1- May 31, 2023 during which the promotional campaign will run.
• “Promotion” refers to this competition and not any of the Scotiabank’s other competitions or programs.
• “Eligible” refers to qualification to participate in this promotion.
• "Purchases" means any retail, internet purchase, phone or mail order purchase or Point of Sale transactions.
• “Eligible Purchases/transactions” means any retail, internet purchase, phone or mail order purchase or Point of Sale transactions not including returns/credits, any fees and/or bank charges, with a minimum spend as outlined in Table I below.
• “Eligible credit cards” refer to selected Scotiabank Visa credit cards.
• “Reward” refers to the prize a customer gets when they are selected as a winner in the competition.
• “Good standing” refers to the state of the account holder the account should not be overlimit or past due any amount.
• "Scotiabank" and “The Bank” means The Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Ltdd

 General Eligibility Criteria

• This Promotion is open to legal residents of Jamaica aged eighteen (18) years of age or older, who hold an eligible Scotiabank credit card with the exception of employees of the Scotiabank, its respective parent companies (The Bank of Nova Scotia and Bank of Nova Scotia Group) and subsidiaries; their immediate family members (spouses, parents, children, siblings and their respective spouses) and/or those living in the same household of any of these employees. Employees of the Scotiabank’s advertising and promotional agencies, as well as their immediate family members, relatives and/or those living in the same households are also not eligible to participate in the Promotion.
• Eligibility is restricted to selected Cardholders whose account is still active at the time of the draw, is in good standing and has not been frozen or closed.
• All Eligible Transactions will be considered toward the earning of entries; there are no limits on the number of entries a Cardholder may receive. All transactions in local and USD currency are eligible.
• Transactions from unauthorized card use or those made with lost, stolen, or fraudulent Scotiabank credit cards will be considered void in the matter of this Promotion. During the Promotional Period Cardholders from the different countries will qualify for cashback on Eligible Purchase with minimum spend and number of purchases as outlined below. There is no limit on the number of purchases that will be qualified for cashback, except that maximum cashback payable will be capped at the figures below for each country.

During the Promotional Period Cardholders from Jamaica will receive one entry for each Eligible Purchase, and/or 3 entries for new accounts opened during the promotional period with activities as outlined below. There is no limit on the number of entries a Cardholder may receive during the Promotional Period.

For example, if a Cardholder in Jamaica does the following three (3) transactions (In local or equivalent foreign currency): one for JM$5,000.00, another for JM$25,000.00 and another for JM$44,000.00, the Cardholder will receive two (2) entries, one for each transaction that meets the spend requirement, that is: one for the spend of JM$25,000.00 and the other for the spend of JM$44,000.00.

If a customer opens a new credit card account and does not make a purchase during the campaign period, the new cardholder will not receive the three entries to win the prize. However, if the customer opens the new credit, activate, and make a purchase using the new credit card during the campaign period, this cardholder will receive 3 entries towards winning the prize.

• All Scotiabank VISA Credit cardholders can earn entry (s) for all purchases that meet the spend requirement as indicated in Table II. Eligible cards include:

• The Cardholder will be entered to win an All-Expense Paid trip to watch 1 match in the Semi-final and the Final of the Visa FIFA Women Cup to be hosted in Sydney, Australia for the Cardholder and one (1) person of the Cardholder’s choice, with an additional prize of prepaid card valued at USD$600, for each winner.

Prize Info:

• Two (2) air tickets, economy class round trip from Kingston or Montego Bay in Jamaica to Sydney, Australia.
• Prize trip will be between August 15th- August 21st, 2023.
• (7) days – six (6) nights of accommodation in double occupancy in the destination city in 4/5 Star hotel
• Two (2) tickets for the winners with their companions to attend two of the matches of the FIFA Women World Cup in host city in the semi-final and final phase of the Visa FIFA Women World Cup 2023
• Daily breakfast and light snacks available during day through trip
• Transfers from airport to the hotel in destination city
• Visa Prepaid card $600 USD per winner
• Cultural Activity tour in destination city
• Transport to scheduled activities
• Visa Concierge service and access to the Visa Everywhere Lounge during the stay at the hotel in the destination city.

There will be a total of 2 winners from Jamaica.

• The draw for the winners will be done on Wednesday June 9th, 2023 at 11AM by the Regional Product Marketing Unit, Corner of Duke & Port Royal Street Kingston CSO
• The allotted number of winners will be randomly selected from an electronic customer database with qualifying entries using a randomizer. Four (4) entries will be drawn as back up winners. 

• Three (3) attempts will be made to notify the winners, by telephone, three (3) times within three (3) business days from the date of the draw. Should Scotiabank be unable to contact the winners directly by telephone within the aforementioned period another winner will be drawn from the back up winners in their stead and the aforementioned contact procedure followed. After being notified by telephone, an email will be sent to the winner. The winner will then be required to provide proof of their age and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Prize Acceptance and Release within three business (3) days of the email notification to be confirmed as a winner. The winner will also be required to provide proof of ownership of the Scotiabank credit card that was used to win the prize by way of a valid government issued identification. A valid form of National identification must also be presented to collect prize. For example, National ID card, Passport, or Driver’s License.
• If the winner declines to fulfill these conditions or to collect the prize, their eligibility will be voided, and another winner will be drawn from back up winners in the order they were selected. All unclaimed prizes will be retained by Scotiabank.
• Contact will be attempted using the Cardholder’s phone number as found in Scotiabank’s records. If the winner cannot be contacted by telephone within three (3) business days of the draw date Scotiabank has the right to offer the prize to back up winner.
• The winners’ name may be published in the media as part of Scotiabank’s promotional and marketing activities for the promotion and winner must agree to the use of his or her name and photographs without compensation in any forthcoming publicity by Scotiabank or the prize may be forfeited.
• The winner will be responsible for any required Visa (s), the payment of any taxes, tips, insurance and expenses as well as any associated fines and fees levied in in relation to the foregoing, not explicitly stated as part of their prize, and must agree to release, discharge and hold harmless Scotiabank from and against any or all claims, losses, injuries or damages resulting from participation in the Promotion.
• The use of your Eligible credit card to make purchases constitutes your consent to participate in this Promotion and your consent for Scotiabank to obtain your name, address and other information for the lawful purpose of administering this Promotion and for other uses permitted by applicable law. Scotiabank reserves the right, with consultation and approval from the relevant Gaming Commissions (as applicable), to void any and all entries of an entrant who Scotiabank believes has attempted to tamper with or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of this contest.
• This Promotion is a limited-time promotion which will run from April 1- May 31, 2023, inclusive.
• A Cardholder’s reward earned through participation in this Promotion will be forfeited in the event that the Cardholder ceases to be an eligible Cardholder up to May 31, 2023.
• Prizes are not transferable and are subject to change, with approval from the relevant Gaming Commissions (Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission in Jamaica, National Lotteries Control Board in Trinidad and Tobago, Gaming Authority of Guyana, and the Gaming Board for The Bahamas in The Bahamas) as applicable.
• Prizes must be accepted as awarded.
• Scotiabank will not be responsible for changes to the prizes which result from circumstances outside of its control.
• Scotiabank will issue no representation or warranty in respect of the prize.

In all matters relating to this Promotion, the decision of Scotiabank shall be final and binding in all respects, subject to the approval from the relevant gaming authorities.

Subject to the approval from the relevant gaming authorities:

• Scotiabank and Visa have the right to exclude any individual from this offer in its absolute discretion without any obligation to provide notice or reason.
• Scotiabank and Visa reserve the right in its absolute discretion to vary the terms and conditions of this Promotion or change or withdraw this Promotion at any time without giving any reason. In the event of a dispute arising from this Promotion, Scotiabank’s decision is final.

These terms and conditions apply only to this Promotion and do not apply to any of Scotiabank’s other promotions or programs or any other promotion or program in conjunction with Scotiabank and any other entity or brand.
