What you’ll need
Before heading to the branch or initiating the transfer, gather:
- Recipient’s Full Name and Address (no P.O. Boxes)
- Recipient’s Bank Name and Address
- Recipient’s Account Number or IBAN
- SWIFT/BIC Code of the recipient’s bank
- ABA Routing Number (for U.S. transfers)
- Currency of the transfer
How to send
- Visit a Scotiabank Branch - Bring your ID and the recipient’s banking details.
- Complete the Wire Transfer Form -Ensure SWIFT codes and account numbers are correct.
- Review Fees and Exchange Rates -Service charges and the applicable exchange rate.
- Confirm and Send - You’ll receive a reference number for tracking.
Receiving money by wire transfer
If someone is sending you money from another bank, make sure they have the correct routing instructions based on the currency.
