Update regarding Jamaica Electronic Transfer Services (J.E.T.S) Limited
We are writing to advise that Jamaica Electronic Transfer Services (J.E.T.S) Limited, operators of Jamaica’s MultiLink Debit Card and Automated Clearing House (ACH) networks, recently issued a statement about a cyber incident that affected a limited part of its internal administrative systems.
As a member of the J.E.T.S network, we are aware of the incident and encourage you to remain alert and monitor transactions on your accounts. Based on the information received to date, personal identification numbers (PINs), card verification values (CVVs) and expiration dates were not affected.
To help safeguard your account, we are using this opportunity to remind you to:
- Regularly review your account or credit card transactions through our online banking platform and closely monitor bank alerts. If you notice an unfamiliar transaction, please report it using the number on the back of your Scotiabank card or on our official website.
- Exercise caution with unsolicited calls, text messages, emails or social media messages about your cards or accounts, including those claiming to be from your bank, J.E.T.S or the Bank of Jamaica, as these may be attempts at fraud.
- Never share your PINs, CVVs, one-time passwords or online banking login details with anyone. Scotiabank will not ask you to share these details.
We will continue to monitor developments closely and keep you informed.
