Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) scheduled system update

Dear Valued Clients,

Jamaica’s financial sector, led by the Bank of Jamaica,  will adopt the ISO 20022 standard for RTGS and wire transfers in December 2025. The transition to this global format will lead to improved payment processing among banks.

As we mobilise to deliver a more resilient payment experience, we will be conducting a scheduled system update to our RTGS platform from Thursday, December 11, 2025, starting at 4:00 p.m. to Friday, December 12, 2025, at 8 a.m.

During this period, the RTGS transfer option will be temporarily unavailable. Our ACH option remains available and can be used, as needed, to complete transactions.

The migration to the new system and subsequent integration may result in transaction delays. We acknowledge that some clients have already experienced delays with RTGS transactions and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please be assured that our teams are working diligently to resolve these issues.
