Scotia Group Shines at the 20th JSE Awards

Kingston, Jamaica - December 11, 2024 – Scotia Group Jamaica Limited wins big at the 20th Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) Best Practices Awards held on December 3, 2024. Scotia received six (6) awards and walked away with the coveted Governor General’s Award for Excellence, Corporate Disclosure and Investor Relations Award (Main Market) and the PSOJ/JSE Corporate Governance Award (Main Market). The Group also received 2nd runner up member dealer awards for Investor Relations and Website for their Scotia Investments Jamaica Limited subsidiary.

Mrs. Audrey Tugwell Henry, Scotia Group President and CEO, was also recognized by the JSE for Leadership and Sterling Contribution to the business and financial sector. Since assuming leadership in January 2021, Tugwell Henry has led the organization to consecutively achieve strong results year over year. In response to the awards, Audrey Tugwell Henry stated that, “Scotiabank continues to distinguish itself as best in class, having served Jamaica for 135 years. We are pleased to receive these awards which honour best practice in governance and conduct. We are especially proud of the recognition by the JSE, which we consider to be a standard bearer for excellence”. 

The JSE is the principal stock exchange of Jamaica comprising multiple markets: Main Market, Junior Market, USD Market, Bond Market and Private Market. It is also recognized as one of the most sector-diverse exchanges in the Caribbean including banking and finance, retail, manufacturing, insurance, leisure, communications, conglomerates, services and real estate. The Best Practices Awards was established in 2004 by the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) and is held annually in December. There are six (6) categories for which businesses are awarded - annual report, best performing company, corporate disclosure and investor relations, PSOJ/ JSE Award for corporate governance, website and investor relations.
