Marsha Ramgeet Williams, ACCA
Director of Operations
Mrs. Williams joined Scotiabank in 2002 as a Management Trainee in the Comptroller Department, over the years she has held other positions in the bank namely Assistant Comptroller-Subsidiaries as well as her previous role as Manager Treasury & Foreign Exchange Trading where she was responsible for managing the Banks sizable investment portfolio. Mrs Williams joined the SJLIC management team in February 2008 as Finance Manager and Compliance Officer.
Mrs Williams successfully achieved the ACCA designation during her tenure at PricewaterhouseCoopers and is currently a fellow of that organization. At PricewaterhouseCoopers she gained vast experience in auditing various sectors such as manufacturing, distribution, insurance and finance.
She is currently pursuing her Masters in Finance from the Manchester School of Business.
Dr. Adrian Stokes
President, Scotia Jamaica Life Insurance Company
As president of Scotia Insurance has primary responsibility for the growth and profitability of individual life, group life and pension insurance businesses to support the strategic goals of Scotia Group Jamaica.
Adrian joined the Scotia Group in 2010 as vice president and has progressively held senior roles where he was responsible for developing Market Risk, Strategy, and Business Intelligence. Adrian has a successful background in Investment Management, Product Development, Corporate Strategy, and Risk Management.
In this role, Adrian will have primary responsibility for the growth and profitability of individual life, group life and pension insurance businesses to support the strategic goals of Scotia Group Jamaica.
Adrian has a PhD in International Finance from the University of Manchester and a MSc in Economics from the University of the West Indies. He is also a former Commonwealth Scholar.
Manager, Policy Administration and Client Services
Mr. Denton Campbell joined the Scotia Jamaica Life Insurance family in January 2004 and now holds the position of Manager, Policy Administration and Client Services. He brings with him a wealth of experience in life insurance, having spent in excess of 20 years in the industry prior to joining Scotia Insurance. While at Scotia Insurance, he has led several customer database upgrade and policy digitization projects as well as manage the introduction of new products to customers. His previous role as Business Analyst he has been keen in managing operational systems to facilitate smooth company to client interface.
Denton holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Leicester and also holds the Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI).
Michelle Scott – FCCA
Senior Manager & Comptroller - Insurance
Michelle Scott joined Scotiabank in 2003 as a Management Trainee in the Comptroller Department, after working for two years in the British Channel Islands in the Captive Insurance Industry.
Over the years she has held progressively senior financial positions in the bank including Assistant Comptroller – Subsidiaries as well as Manager, Financial Reporting at the Scotia Building Society.
Mrs. Scott joined the SJLIC management team in December 2013 and currently leads the finance team.
Mrs. Scott successfully achieved the ACCA designation in 2002 and is currently a fellow of that organisation.
Sandra Walters, BSc, FLMI, ACS
Joined Scotia Jamaica Life Insurance in February 2005 as Operations Supervisor bringing a wealth of experience in Life Insurance Operations, having spent in excess of 11 years in the industry.
She has also held the role of Senior Claims Examiner at Scotia Insurance, where she adjudicated on claims for the Individual Life, Retirement, Annuity and Group Creditor Insurance portfolios.
Sandra holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree from the University of the West Indies; and is a Fellow of Life Management Institute (FLMI) and Associate of Customer Service (ACS) designations.
She is a member of the IAJ Life Underwriters & Claims Administrators Committee.
